My Adjectival Summer

In this first blog post, you will write 1 solid paragraph (6-8 sentences) explaining how words or actions changed you this summer. You will begin your paragraph with this sentence:

"I have never felt more _____________________(strong adjective) because of something that happened this summer."

After writing this sentence and filling in the blank with a strong adjective, you will explain what actions or words caused you to feel this way this summer.

For example, I might write, "I have never felt more energized because of something that happened this summer. This summer, I went camping nearly every weekend...." (In my next sentences, I would go on to explain how the experience of camping this summer has made me feel energized).

*Remember, blog posts are posted on "school property." Anything you post must be school-appropriate--something that you wouldn't mind Mrs. Pramenko or your parents reading.

  1. I have never felt more thankful because of something that happened this summer. This summer, I traveled to Maryland and Pennsylvania to play lacrosse. This made me feel thankful this summer because I got to play the best teams in the nation. I was also very thankful because I played really well at these tournaments. These trips were a lot of fun because I met a lot of new friends from many different states. I met friends from Texas, Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and more friends from Colorado. Last, I am very thankful to have the skill to compete in these fun tournaments. I hope to compete in many more national tournaments in the future.

  2. I have never felt so busy because some things that happened this summer.
I went on a total of 5 trips this sumer. My first one was in Ohio for a week. I was visiting my grandparents. My dad used to live in that area, so we were always going somewhere, visiting old houses, seeing his college etc. My next one was up in Washington State. Me and some friends spent a week sailing the San Juan islands. Directly after that, I went to another week long camping trip near Fort Collins. Later, I went to Alamosa for a 4-day mission trip, and then the sand dunes right after. My last trip was to Steamboat Springs for one week with family. I did a lot of Colorado stuff, like hiking, biking, kayaking, all of those fun things. All of these trips made my summer feel very busy.

  3. I have never felt more excited about something that happened this summer. This summer I went to Vegas for a basketball tournament. We got eliminated from the playoffs early and went 2-2. We went to Nike Town to shop. The experience made me feel excited because I had never been to Vegas before and I got to buy shoes at Nike Town.

  6. I have never felt more loyal because of something that happened this summer. To catch you up to date, my best friend was being bullied. She cried every night. We knew who the girl was. She brought up her dad and used it against my best friend. This took things way too far. The next day, I went shopping with my dad. I saw the bully. I talked to her and told her it needs to stop, asked how it would feel to have your family used against you. She said she was so sorry. And after this never bullied my best friend again. I felt like a loyal friend because I stood up for my best friend for something that was really hard for her. Ever since this took place, me and my best friend have been closer than ever.

  7. I have never felt more adventurous because of something that happened this summer. This summer I had the chance to go to Camp Timberline for two weeks. At camp we were constantly outdoors either playing games, swimming in a lake, or hiking. I enjoy being outdoors as you can wander around and be curious. On one of our hikes we wandered off trail and got lost, as we tried to find our way back we discovered a waterfall that we ended up swimming in. This made me want to be even more adventurous. When I got home from camp, I went out and hiked and camped as much as possible because I realized what great things you can find when you are adventurous.

  9. This summer I have never felt more terrified and excited at the same time. Me and my family went up for a vacation in Vail this summer and our mom told us we had to wake up at 5:30 AM to go on a hot air balloon ride! I was so scared but yet so excited at the same time! So we got up there and I was so scared I did not want to get on the balloon. Once we got on and up in the air I just thought of it as there was nothing I could do about it anymore. So then I thought it was so cool and fun to be in a hot air balloon! When we got up really high I have no idea why but I was not scared at all I thought it was so cool! So in the end I was really happy I did it!

  10. I have never felt so weightless because of something that happened this summer. This summer on an awesome trip the the glorious state of Ohio, we went to the best amusement park in the world. This park is called Ceder Point and it is home to many world record breaking roller coasters, such as Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster. Millennium Force, my favorite, starts with a 300 foot drop that turns your brain to mush. After that there are many twists and turns that make you feel like you are flying. In those twists and turns there are two major air time hills that let you experience zero-gravity. There is to feeling like being weightless, and I wish that I could experience it over and over again. My family and I got off of Millennium Force and continued to ride awesome coasters, and when we left I was full of joy. I will always remember the felling of weightlessness I got from Millennium Force.

  11. I have never felt more confident because of something that happened this summer. This summer I was able to almost hangout with my friends everyday. That is a normal thing and all for teenagers to do but last summer I had stayed inside everyday reading, I literally spent my whole summer reading books and not going out and having fun with my friends. This summer I went to different states with friends, went to random places just cause we could and went to the pool. Most summer's for me feel like they last for forever and i always wanted to just be active, this summer that is what I did. This summer I felt more confident because of being able to go out and have fun with friends.

  12. I have never felt more impacted because of something that happened to me this summer. I went to a Christian camp that I had attended years before. Hearing everyones testimony allowed me to look at life from a different perspective. It showed me that everything happens for a reason. Whether that reason is good or bad it is a lesson and one that has helped them in the long run.

  13. I have never felt more accomplished because of something that happened this summer. I moved up a level in gymnastics this summer so I am very happy and feel I have accomplished a big goal of mine. I feel even more accomplished because most of the people that moved up with me have been in the previous level for over a year, while I was in it for only four months. Also, this summer I got my ariel in gymnastics, which was another goal of mine. An ariel is a cartwheel without any hands. This summer made me feel very accomplished because of the fact that I was able to move up a level and got a hard skill that took me a long time to learn.

  16. I have never felt more loved because of something that happened to me this summer. I spent the whole summer with friends. I spent almost every night with a friend and had the best summer I have ever had. My family left for two weeks and I spent the whole time with a friend and his family made me feel loved because they treated me like there own son.

  17. I have never felt so connected because of something that happened to me this summer. During the summer I traveled to Idaho with many of my closest family members. Together, we experienced many different activities such as boating, cliff jumping, paddle-boarding, music festivals, meals, and swimming in Priest Lake. After spending the week with them, I felt more connected to each of my family members. Without all the laughs and memories my family and I had shared in Priest Lake Idaho, I definitely would not feel as connected as I do now that the summer has passed.

  18. I have never felt so lucky because of something that happened this summer. I have never escaped catastrophe before so this was a first. I traveled to Wyoming this summer and went on a outdoors persons dream , fly fishing, downhill mountain biking, Jackson hole, but all things didn't go as swiftly as planned. While I was enjoying the beautiful Tetons and a gold medal river I was heading down the river some what enjoying the landscape , in a boat, by myself only problem was I didn't know how to steer a drift boat much less on a big river like the Green. How did I get myself here you may ask, lets just say we pulled over on the river for lunch and every body got out expect me and the anchor didn't do its job. But there I was heading down a river in a boat that I didn't know how to use while the fly fishing guide shouting out how to steer the boat to shore, this was one of the most freighting moments of the summer much less my life not knowing if I was going to float all the way back to Colorado. Lucky for me the guide made enough sense to get me to steer the boat to a long tail out and where he came out and grabbed the boat and me, was that a relief.

  19. I have never felt more excited because of something that happened this summer. I have recently gotten a Yellow Labrador Puppy who was 12 weeks old when we first got her. I was excited of dreams I had for my puppy like learning how to swim, learning to hug, how to shake, how to speak, how to stay, how to sit, how to pee and poop outside, and how to not bite my hand off when I give her a treat. When you first start to train a puppy they seem really dumb but they thankfully catch on but it takes awhile like knowing how to sit, stay, shake, and not biting my hand off when giving her a treat. My puppy is still dumb on how to swim, hug, speak, and how to pee and poop outside but she will catch on. I will still be really excited when she learns a knew trick and I will also be relieved when she know how to pee and poop outside without any accidents but it takes time to learn new things.

  20. I have never felt so confident because of something that happened this summer. At one point this summer the reality hit me that this year could be epic. The reality that I am not only a high school student, but I am a Warrior. Any stupid middle school drama no longer exists as long as I choose to forget it. Any image labels I had of who I was could change, and it didn't matter how much I succeeded academically, because this is a fresh start for me. This a blank slate for me and I can completely reinvent myself. I can choose whether I want to blow this year off or be successful, and I am choosing success. That decision makes me confident in my future.

  21. I have never felt so excited because of something that happened this summer. This summer I did A lot, mainly I tried making plans with friends, and going to extracurricular classes. The main thing I did, however, was anticipate the start of high school. I was worried out of my mind, i had spent my child hood listening to my parents stories about the eons of homework and the pressure to succeed. I expressed my fear to some of my friends, who had become freshmen the previous year. Luckily, they eased my fear, they told me the good points of high school, meeting new people, getting to take a role in your future, and open campus. They changed my entire perspective toward it, I thanked them for changing making it something i looked forward to, instead of dreading the day it began. They turned around my whole summer, and made me look forward to the day school started.

  22. I have never felt more productive because of something I did this summer. This summer, I started learning Korean on my own. I decided to learn Korean last year around October but never got to it until late May. I considered how difficult it would be to balance five languages, English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, and now Korean and thought up a solid plan for the future. I learned several phrases and miscellaneous words through watching Korean shows and listening to Korean Music and I also used a combination of YouTube videos, apps and programs to ensure what I was learning and studying was accurate. I always found time in my schedule such as once or twice a week for learning new material. Though I'm not very far into the language, throughout the summer, I have made substantial progress such as learning how to read, write, and speak the Korean Alphabet. Compared to recent summers where I end up having done hardly any of the activities I hoped to when the school year started again, I feel much more productive this time around.

  23. I have never felt so exited because of something I did this summer. What I did this summer is get second part in marching band. This makes me excited because I'm only a freshman and I am on second part which for marching band is hard. Also I'm that much closer to being looked up to by the other trumpets. Now I'm not the worst trumpet I'm the third best. Because of this the kids who used to tease me are now put in there place.

  25. I have never felt so lucky because of something that happened this summer. What I did this summer was go to a concert at Red Rocks for the very first time. I loved to see how everyone was enjoying every part of that night and it was special to be a part of it all. The beauty in Red Rocks was a bonus to the live music, and to meet many amazing people on top of that, is hard to beat. At some point or another everyone should definitely take the opportunity if given to be apart of it all whether or not they enjoy the music.

  26. I have never felt more estatic, because this summer I went off the Coloradan Great Sand Dunes. The hike to the top was slow and hot, but all worth it for the ride down. During the day the sand can reach up to 144 degrees Fahrenheit, and I was barefoot. I was with two of my younger cousins and they had to stop every few seconds because of the scorching sand which made the trip to the top take forever. Once we finally got the top we positioned ourselves so we had a clear shot down the 700 foot hill of sand, the speed was so great it felt like if you let go of your sled you would fly off your board and extremely hurt. That is why my summer was very awesome.

  27. I have never felt more thrilled, because of something that happened this summer. Over the short summer I traveled to many places some to meet family and some for just fun. This summer I went to my summer camp in Trinity, Texas. There me and my friends from all the previous years did many different activities. We went water skiing, canoeing, building shelters out of branches, leaves, etc., and I never get tired of it. Then after a great two weeks it was time to leave the camp and from their we went to visit some family who live in Houston, Texas. While I was their we spent a lot of time with my cousins and we did tons of different activities fishing, swimming/water parks, and we even spent the fourth of July with them which was very fun. Then after a after about a week with seeing family it was finally time to go back to Denver, and after a few weeks back in Denver we drove down to Phoenix, Arizona to visit some more family for about five days. This summer I was thrilled because I did not waste any time in the summer.

  28. I have never felt more amazing because of something that happened this summer. I won state all around in gymnastics and got first on bars, second on beam, third on vault and fourth on floor. In the middle of my floor routine I sprained my ankle, but I still ended up winning. I kept going even though it hurt, and after my floor routine I iced and my coach taped my ankle so I could keep going for vault. I am very happy that I kept going, because if I had given up, I wouldn't have won. I wasn't expecting it at all, so when they called my name for first I was very surprised and I felt amazing.

  29. I have never felt more amazing because of something that happened this summer. This summer, I hung out with my friends all the time, there were even some days that we never left each other. What me and my friends would always go do is hang out at the mall, southglenn, pool and other friends houses. We also went to a few parties this summer as well, this summer has definantly been better than any other summer I've ever had and I hope the next one will be even better.

  30. This summer I have never felt so energetic because of something that happened this summer. I spent most of my summer riding bikes and going to the mall almost everyday. I spent my summer enjoying it with my family and friends. This has made me feel energetic because I spent every moment outside, I didn't realize how much fun it is to sleep on trampolines, sleepovers where we stay up till 2 am, and biking almost everyday. This summer has been energetic for me.

  31. I have never felt so exited because of something that happened this summer. I got to play tons of basketball in state but out of state too. I went to Wichita, Kansas and Las Vegas, Nevada. In Vegas we played against teams from Wyoming, Texas, and California. There were even scouts from Division one colleges like Oklahoma and Auburn. This was a great experience in my life to have.
